What's this then - and what's it worth?

Well, I know it's a 650GS .... but what I really want to establish is: is it injected? So can anyone tell me from these supplied pics - or advise me what specificallyto ask the vendor (who isn't sure).

TIA

Re: What's this then?

From 2000 onwards the 650 was fuel-injected

Thanks, Steve!

Given that the bike has only done 8,000 miles, would anyone care to hazard a guess as to it's worth?

Thanks, Richie. Anyone else care to add their thoughts, please?

Private seller. As Richie says, 1800 tops. Wade in at 1500 because that's a tad more than you'd get trade-in. I take it you're interested for yourself Ralphy? Looks a good bike for 15, just check the coolant hose connections to the radiator, they're a known weak spot.

Thanks, Rich.

It's a half-formed thought to have myself a local/green lane alternative to the 1150. Much as I enjoy my bike, any physical manoevering of it causes my shoulder injury to flare up - so the prospect of taking it off-road is frankly daunting.

So, my thinking process was to consider a 2nd bike, this led to which one - but there are so many out there to choose from so I thought I'd start with BMW's offerings. The plan would be to put a pair of knobblies on and ride my local lanes, whilst keeping the 1150 for camping and trips.

If you're not going to be travelling any distance, I'd consider something smaller and lighter like a DRZ

DRZ = 37" seat
Ralphy = 29" inside leg.

You won't be looking at a 650 Dakar then!

The thing with the trailies is they're all tallish, a Serrow excepting, but they all sink on their suspension once you're on them. Have you thought about a Yam TTR250, it's proven fairly reliable with a strong engine and has electric start? 04 bikes onwards are official UK registered.

Briefly rode a Serow & quite liked it.

No, hadn't thought about a Yamaha - in truth, hadn't thought about anything much. I'm not one for 'keeping up' with bikes tbh, don't read any mags, or MCN, or any bike forums either. But I have sat on a F650GS and found it much better than the 1150GS from a height/weight point of view; hence the original thought. The one I pictured is available for £1500, needs taxing and MOT - but is in North Wales........

We are bringing a DRZ and a Serow if you want a little go / sit

pauls is a 29" inside leg and deals with the DRZ no problem

Thanks for that & I'll take you up on the offer; as I said before I liked the Serow and that may fit the criteria for local pootling, never sat on a dRZ though.

Re: What's this then - and what's it worth?

Ralphy,
I brought a Suzuki XF650 Freewind (copy of bmw f650) a couple of years ago,
Oil cooled, easy to service, I like the single alternative if solo, or for work locally to save running up miles on the 1150, I was going to bring up to PT at the weekend in case there is an off road trip on the Saturday? you are welcome to take her out for a spin if you want?

Gary
